Spree is for clothes, shoes, bags and accessories that a shop in Lagos has in stock. Everything posted must fit one of Spree's shelves, be lawful to sell in Nigeria, and be safe to carry on a motorcycle. This list is part of the terms of use and the seller agreement. If a piece is not clearly allowed, ask us through Help before you post it.
We remove pieces that break these rules, and we may suspend or close the shop. Where the law requires, we report them to the authorities.
1. Never allowed
Fakes and stolen goods - Counterfeit or replica goods: anything carrying a brand's name, logo or design that the brand did not make. Words such as "first copy", "AAA", "mirror quality", "1:1" or "inspired by" next to a brand name are not allowed. - Stolen goods, or goods you cannot show you are entitled to sell.
Illegal or dangerous goods - Weapons of any kind, including knives sold as weapons, replica guns, stun guns, pepper spray and ammunition. - Drugs, medicines, supplements, alcohol, tobacco and vaping products. - Fireworks, flammable liquids or gases, and any hazardous material. - Military, police, paramilitary or other official uniforms, badges and insignia. - Wildlife products from protected species, such as ivory, tortoiseshell, pangolin scales and the skins of protected animals. - Recalled products and products banned by a Nigerian regulator.
Beauty and body products - Cosmetics, skin and hair products, fragrances and anything applied to the body. Spree does not sell these, so that we never carry products that need NAFDAC registration or contain banned ingredients such as mercury.
Hygiene - Used underwear, used swimwear, and pierced jewellery that has been worn.
Content and conduct - Anything showing or promoting hate, violence, terrorism or sexual content, or exploiting children. - Items carrying someone else's personal data, and identity documents.
Not physical stock - Pieces you do not have in hand ready to hand to the rider, including pre-orders, made-to-order pieces you have not finished, and items you are "sourcing". - Gift cards, vouchers, currency, digital goods, services, tickets, and anything that is not a physical fashion item. - Live animals.
Too big or too heavy - Anything that does not fit in a rider's delivery box or weighs more than 10 kg.
2. Allowed, with conditions
Thrift and used pieces. Thrift is welcome on Spree, in the feed and in Gbanjo drops. Every piece is labelled new or used, and thrift is always labelled used. A used piece must say so (the law requires this: FCCPA section 117), describe and show every fault, stain, tear or alteration, and be clean and ready to wear.
As the seller you are responsible for where your stock came from and for complying with customs and import law.
Branded goods. Allowed only if they are genuine. We may ask you for proof, such as a receipt from the brand or an authorised dealer. A buyer who receives a counterfeit is refunded in full and the cost is charged to the shop.
Watches and jewellery. Describe the materials honestly. "Gold" means real gold; plated or costume pieces must say so.
Handmade and custom-made pieces. Allowed if the piece is finished and in stock when you post it. Pieces made to a buyer's own measurements are not sold through Spree.
3. Reporting a piece
If you see a piece that breaks these rules, report it from the piece's page in the app. Brand owners can report counterfeits to [email protected] with the link and proof of their rights; we act on every report.
